Materials - Hemp Rope
by Master David
(Kentucky) Used by permission Introduction I've been using hemp rope, almost exclusively for a few years now, I've found that it appeals to the artist in me, and, as much as anything else, I love the smell of it, and use it's natural odor as a focus point for my submissive before I tie,, (if it does get her "high" it's not the THC that does it). I use different thickness of it from 6 mm to 12 mm depending on what I'm doing, although for general use I use 8 mm. I generally prepare it before I use it. It comes raw, so I cut it to length, and "whip" the ends,,(any other old boy scouts here?). To Condition or Soften the Rope To simply condition the rope in order to soften it up, just put it in the washer with detergent and fabric softener, then dry. Make sure the rope is dry. It takes longer than you think in the dryer.
Coloring Hemp Rope Then it goes into the dryer until it is dry,,,the result is a wonderful..softened rope,,,in my favorite color!! Again it takes longer than you might think to dry. My supplier is Pan World Traders out of Santa Cruz, California (1-800-973-4367) they sell the stuff by the kilo, in two kilo rolls (not too expensive either). It is a European twisted rope,, not a Japanese woven rope, but it gets the job done until I can get a cheap supply of the good stuff!! Yours in rope Master David (Kentucky)
